Handles a workload of transactional legal work, including but not limited to real estate leasing and transactions, corporate structuring, formation, and general counsel, finance, estate planning, and potentially some civil litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and commercial agreements, including purchase agreements, service contracts, operating agreements, and leases.
- Manage real estate transactions from start to close, including due diligence, title review, drafting closing documents, and coordinating with title companies, lenders, and brokers.
- Advise clients on entity formation, corporate governance, ownership structuring, mergers, acquisitions, and ongoing business compliance.
- Prepare estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives, and counsel clients on succession and wealth transfer strategies.
- Handle civil litigation matters on the hourly side, including drafting and arguing motions, managing discovery, and attending mediations and pre-trial conferences.
- Conduct legal research and provide memoranda and risk assessments to support client decision-making across all practice areas.
- Maintain proactive and regular communication with clients, providing updates, answering questions, and delivering practical legal counsel.
- Coordinate with opposing counsel, co-counsel, and third parties to advance transactions and resolve disputes efficiently.
- Manage multiple client matters simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining organized files in collaboration with the firm's support staff.
- Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand the scope of services provided to existing clients.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Colorado State Bar, or eligibility for admission.
- 4+ years of transactional attorney experience ideal, though strong candidates with less experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the firm's core practice areas: contracts, real estate, corporate/business law, or estate planning.
- Exceptional written, oral, and presentational communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and thrive under deadlines while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Strong client relationship and business development skills, with a desire to grow a book of business.
- Proficiency with legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis) and document management systems.
- Sound judgment and ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small-firm environment.
- Commitment to ethical practice and client-centered service.
- Experience in drafting initial disclosures, discovery requests, discovery responses, statements of discovery issues, subpoenas, expert disclosures, and pretrial disclosures.
- Litigation experience.
- Active membership in good standing with the Utah State Bar, or the ability to obtain admission within six months of hire.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) or other language proficiency is a plus.
- Base salary plus performance-based compensation, with total expected earnings of $95,000 – $150,000 (depending on experience). Placement within this range is tied directly to the attorney's collected revenue, rewarding strong client development and matter management.
